My life purpose is to build new technologies and bring them to millions of people!- Ugur KILCI
🤯
I have always been an entrepreneur, and I will always be an entrepreneur. I have realized more than 600 projects so far, but I set my course only after I fully discovered my life's purpose.
First, I'll make 5 SaaS that will cover my overheads and earn a total MRR of $1000. Then I'll go for bigger things, million-dollar startups.
🔥
1. Fail SaaS:3 years ago, I made a tool called API Maker in a hackathon. I did not win the competition. With the help of many people, I finished and published the tool in 7-8 months. Despite everything, I was dependent on foreign sources.
😅
My external dependency was on people and products. People were helping me, but I couldn't move without them. I developed products with technologies I didn't know. I had never used AWS, so I did, but it slowed me down a lot.
🧐
I decided I would not be on an external dependency for the next product!
⛔
2. Fail SaaS:After that decision, a marketer friend and I developed a Twitter marketing tool called CreateTargetAudience. It was pretty cool. However I had taken a freelance software job to pay my university fees. The two overlapped at that time. I couldn't manage both of them well.
🤦♂️
And when Elon Musk bought Twitter, he removed a critical feature of the product. So I remembered again that I had to follow my decision. "I shouldn't have been an external dependency!"
✅
1. Success SaaS:I developed a Notion widgets tool called NotionPlus.dev. It now has more than 5800 members and has an MRR of $141. It has almost no external dependency. I don't pay for AI or API, etc. I don't use technologies I don't know.
📉😕
Growth Problems:For a long time, I tried to grow NotionPlus.dev. I couldn't increase the number of subscribers. 🤷♂️ After my analysis, I realized that it's not growing because it's a blue ocean in a blue ocean. 🤔 So the product is very niche!
😨
I had a couple of experiences that caused the water to overflow. I couldn't explain NotionPlus to most people. At first, I thought it was because people didn't understand, but no! The product was not understandable! So, I had to design a product that could be understandable!
😏
Okay! Then my new goal was clear. The next product would be non-external dependency, non-niche, and understandable! I shared the entire development process on X/Twitter by doing #buildinpublic. I will continue to share.
😈
My only goal for now is to reach $1000 MRR. Once I achieve that, I can start building a million-dollar startup.
